LuminOre®
is applied using conventional HVLP (high volume, low-pressure) spray
equipment.
LuminOre®
gives almost any material the appearance of being a solid cast metal
object without the weight. The patented cold-spray, cold-cast process
allows a thin layer of metal to be applied over any substrate, in
virtually any configuration or design.
LuminOre®
looks, feels and acts like hot-cast metal, yet no heat is needed.
It will
adhere to almost any surface:
Once
cured, the product has all the characteristics of a cast metal, including
texture, luster and heat conductivity.
LuminOre®
is real metal, so it is durable. It will not crack, chip or peel and
is suitable for exterior as well as interior use.
How
can a metal be sprayed?
The
metal in LuminOre® reacts with the binder. This makes the binder
thinner than before the addition of the metal, allowing the material
to spray through a 36-thousandths-of-an-inch orifice. The chemical
reaction between the metal and the polymer binder turns the finished
product into a composite metal. This is not a suspension of metal
particles in the polymer system. The metal and binder actually combine
to form a true composite metal.
LuminOre®
is applied using standard HVLP (high volume, low-pressure) spray equipmen - readily
available tools that you may already own - and is finished
with standard metal polishing tools. It can be brushed or rolled on
to a surface or cast solid. It can be applied on flexible surfaces
and does not shrink.
Once
you apply or cast LuminOre®, you treat it like solid metal. You
may sand, sandblast, polish, wire brush, acid wash, and machine or
seal it, even give it a hot patina wash.

Economical
and cost effective.
LuminOre®
provides the look, feel and durability of solid cast metal without
the expense, weight, inconvenience and time of a forged metal product.
It is
most economical at 8 to 10 mils thick (1 mil = .001). While
comprised of up to 95 percent metal, LuminOre® lacks the weight
of solid metal.
At its
standard 10-mil thickness, LuminOre® adds less than four ounces
per square foot to an object. As a result of using LuminOre®,
our customers have found that they are able to increase their revenues
significantly and without a large investment.
