Polyurethanes
Polyurethanes
are well suited for casting plaster, cement, waxes, and certain resins
with the proper use of a release agent.
These
products exhibit excellent physical properties at a lesser cost than
silicone.

Completely
New Poly PT Series Liquid Plastics & Rubbers
The PT stands for "prototyping". These systems are useful
to prototypers and moldmakers for higher temperatures (up to 220F)
flame retardant (UL-94 V-) rated) or castable rubber part applications.
Poly
81 Series
Pourable Rubbers
These
products are very hard, with excellent abrasion and moisture resistance
in cured form.
They
are used for making a variety of hard rubber parts, forms, tools,
rollers, etc. where the best wear and highest performance is expected
from a hard liquid rubber.
Poly
81-90 is a very firm rubber with a shore A-90 hardness. Poly 81-D45
iseven harder systems that have only very slight flexibility and a
feel that borders on that of a plastic.
Features:
-
Offers moisture insensitivity
-
Long
working time
-

Polygel®
35 & 40 & 50 Brushable
Patented
Polygel® mold rubbers are 1:1 mix liquids that thicken during
mixing to a brushable or sprayable viscosity. No Cab-O-Sil® or
Part D is needed. Polygel® 35 & 50 can be applied about 1/4
inch thick while Polygel® 40 is thinner for best detail penetration.
Polygel®
Spray 35 & 50 are a sprayable version. A mold can be made in an
afternoon and cured overnight.
Features:
-
Make a mold in an afternoon
-
Easy
to mix 1 : 1 ratios
-
Tough
and durable mold rubberUsed for:
-
Casting
cement and plaster
-
For
foundries casting wax when doing bronzes
-
Versatile
brush on rubber that should be considered when casting plaster,
cement, wax and resins

PolyTek
Plastics: At A Glance
EasyFlo Series -Low viscosity, 1:1
mix by volume, fast-setting plastics. PolyTek's easiest-to-use and
best-selling plastics!
Poly 15-Series -Strong plastics with varying densities: Some
are like thermoplastics others like stone.
Poly-Optic® 14 Series -Water clear, non-yellowing casting
resins for specialty applications demanding clear, bubble-free castings.
PolyFoam Series - Low viscosity, 1:1 mix ratio,
fast setting rigid and flexible foams.
Poly LightCast - Easy, 1:1 mix ratio plastic with a
wood like density.
Poly Plasti-Flex - Innovative flexible plastic for architectural
moldings that bend, props and more.
PolyGel® Plastics -75 - Thickens to a paste upon
mixing and cures in 2-4 hours. Makes great mold shells fast.
PolyGel® Shell - A sprayable plastic for creating mold
shells, sprayed-up castings or surface hardcoats.

various castings including decorative bonded bronzes and tools that
can withstand high heat.
EasyFlo
60, 95 & 120 Pourable Casting Resin
If low
viscosity is important to you, look no further.
EasyFlo
60 is an outstanding new 1 : 1 (by volume) white polyurethane
plastic with the lowest mixed viscosity available, 60 cps.
EasyFlo
95 has a 1A:1B by volume, 90 cP with 5 min pot life. Recommended
for larger pours where EasyFlo 60 pot life is short. Designed for
larger masses, not thin-section pours. Thinner casting will require
heated molds for best chance of bubble free parts, without pressure.
Pot life long enough so pressure casting is feasible.
EasyFlo
120 is best suited for rotational or slush cast pieces.
Features:
-
Extremely fluid
-
Accepts
high filler levels
-
Readily
color-cast or painted
-
Thin
walled castings are strong and not brittle
Used
for:
-
Various cold-cast techniques such as cold cast bronze, marble etc.

Easy Flo Clear
1A:1B by volume, 2 min light yellow/amber clear plastic, very low viscosity,
releases bubbles nicely, great for filler and color casting applications.
Best cast into a released and preheated (~140F) polyurethane mold. Slower
to develop hardness in thin sections than EasyFlo 60, not recommended
for higher heat applications.
